After successfully organising a Pre-Marriage Seminar, the Marriage Committee of the Khoja Shia Ithna-asheri Muslim Community of Peterborough has organised another seminar for guide to parenting. The seminar is titled as The Parenting Seminar and is aimed to provide guidance on raising and nurturing children in the contemporary times. It is focused for parents having children with ages 6 to 18+.
The seminar will be conducted by Al Hajj Abbas A. J Merali who has conducted similar ones in Africa and United Kingdom. Abbas bhai is known to hold an interactive and participative approach making it easy for the participants to discuss the topic or issues under discussion. He is also co-author of the book “From Marriage to Parenthood.”
Both parents are encouraged to attend as upbringing of the children is the responsibility of both of them.
The seminar will be held on Sunday, 19th May, 2013 at the Husaini Islamic Centre, Peterborough from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. The cost of this seminar is heavily subsided and each participant will be required to pay £ 12.50 with the registration form. Crèche facilities and activities for older children have been organised on the day of the seminar.
