Since the protests in Palestine began on March 30th 2018, it has been reported that Israeli forces have killed at least 113 Palestinians in the coastal enclave and wounded more than 12,000 people.
We at the MKSI Peterborough community deplore and are gravely concerned by the recent violence in the Gaza Strip that has led to such tragic loss of life and injured countless people.
We are appalled that so many casualties include unarmed civilians, members of the media, first responders, and children.
Use of lethal force on a people who are protesting their right of return to their homeland, is not only inexcusable, but is wholeheartedly considered barbaric across all faiths, humanity at large and nations that uphold justice, freedom and democracy for all.
Such flagrant use of violence cannot be allowed and we call upon our government to help set up an independent body through the United Nations to deal accordingly with the crimes committed against the protestors.
