Husaini Youth held a bucket collection for Gaza in Cathedral Square on Saturday 29th December 2012 and were able to raise an impressive amount of money on the day. Brother Ali Salehi accompanied the youth and gave us the following update of the fundraising event:
“Salaam ‘Alaykum,
It was a great pleasure to have the responsibility to be the named responsible person on the day of the Gaza collection last Saturday with the youth of our community. It was great to see so many of the youths participating in this very worthy cause for the children of the besieged Gaza collecting money for them.
Despite the rain and cold, spirits were not dampened and we managed to raise around £461 on the day. The cause may have had more resonance with the public as there had been a Newsnight report about two Gazan youths only a couple of days before as some of the public commented.”
